Chea Chen, a 45-year-old fisherman living in Prasat Sambo district, Kampong Thom province, has been praying to the idolatry and his ancestor spirits for his family's survival, getting from poverty and suffering,
but he has not seen anyone or anything to help his living conditions, instead, it becomes worse and worse.
One day, Mr. Chea Chen met a teacher who is an evangelist preaching about Jesus at that time the teacher had communicated with him with a smile. After his explanation to Chen about salvation from sin that comes from Jesus, the Son of God came to be born with a virgin to suffer and die on the cross instead of our sins, and 3 days later, He rose again from the dead. So, anyone who believes Jesus Christ will be saved and no longer suffering and any kind of trial. Then, that evangelist gave two booklets to Chen for reading and learning that booklets are "Bridge of Life Bridge" and “Who Is God?” Finally, the teacher told Chen: "Whenever you have decided to believe in Jesus, just pray to Him for accepting you as a son of God, asking Him to forgive the sin of you, so He will forgive you, and bless you, brother, and whatever you want."
One day, Chen went out to do his business with his fishing trout. But on that day, he dropped the nets into the water and had no fish to catch, and he remembered the words of the evangelist who told him about Good News of Jesus Christ, if he needs Jesus Christ to help him. Please pray to Him for His forgiveness, and He would bless you as you wish. Just remember that, brother Chen has not slowed down. He bowed his knees down to the ground, fell on his face, and held up his hands with prayer, saying, "Lord Jesus, forgive me of my sin, for I am a sinful man, and accept me as your son. Today I cannot catch anything, Lord. Suddenly, like a noise in his ears told brother Chen, "Drop your nets into the water again you will get fish!" Then, brother Chen started to follow the sound, and suddenly he seemed to be so surprised, as it was unusually weighed when he lifted up, and he saw full of fish in the net. Amazing! Jesus was amazing, wonderful from the prayer!
The next morning, I called for the evangelist and made an appointment to ask him to pray for me because I had converted to the Lord Jesus Christ because of the miracle that the Lord had performed for him. After the evangelist prayed for me, he reminded me that I did not forget to come to worship God on Sunday morning at the church with other people. Then, brother Chen went back home and got a Bible in his hand. After the dinner, the brother began to open the Bible to read. It was strange that he wanted to know it. At the time he opened the Bible, falling to the book of Matthew, chapter 4, he read that right there tells about Jesus to be tempted, and he continued to read paragraph with bold curiosity until Jesus called His first apostles at verse 19, Jesus said to Simon, later called Peter, and Andrew his brother, saying: 'Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Brother Chen began to pray for the Lord, who had called him directly to enter the evangelistic work of the Lord to bring His Gospel to all the lost people.
Later, Chen also preached the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to his mother and father, in order for them to be saved as well as to his wife and children.
From that time, Chen was comforted of his daily life by reading the Bible, especially in Matthew 5: 3-12: “3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. 5“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. 6“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. 7“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. 8“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. 9“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. 10“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Amen.
