From evil spirits to true servants of God

Prey Pdao Church is located in Kompong Speu province along National Road 4 which is 40 km from Phnom Penh.

Prey Pdao Church in Kampong Speu province is under the shepherd of Pastor Khem Eng, whose hair is a bit long on her shoulder, she is slim, and with the age of 46-year-old, she is always with smiling face. She has six children (two girls and four boys), while her eldest daughter has already been married by a marriage dowry life receiving a little girl in the family. The other children, are still single, and are students in secondary and elementary school.

The background before her family received the Lord Jesus Christ, her husband was a soldier. One day, he went to a funeral of someone in the village, when a bad spirit came into his body and caused him jumped into the fiery fire. At that time, Khem Eng's husband was burned the whole body, and his finger nails were scorched. Because of this incident, sister Khem Eng as well as villagers were shocked and terrified. The villagers and sister Khem Eng brought her husband to hospital for emergencies. However, the power of evil spirit remained in the body of Kem Eng's husband, but he did not go out. Even though that evil spirit still made her husband cried out to get more husbands, until he saw all men standing around and watching him, are all the husbands of that spirit.

Sister Khem Eng continued, at that time, in her mind was scramble, anxious, crying, no one was able to help, otherwise she has a poor living, no way to cure her husband's danger, and to cast evil spirit out of his body. Is there a true God in the world that can help people who are drowning in destruction? While being in such a state of mind, there was a voice shouting from my back: "Do you really want to find a true God? The true God is Jesus Christ, where He can redeem people from sin, heal the sick, and cast out the devil spirit. This is the nephew of Sister Khem Eng, who's a 24-year-old believer in the faith of Jesus Christ, through a Korean missionary who came to preach the Gospel to him and the nephew was learning the Word of God at the Bible School. The nephew came to visit her, hearing that her husband was in danger, jumping into a fiery fire by the devil spirit coming in the body. Sister Kem Eng asked the nephew where she could go to find Jesus Christ? The nephew told sister Khem Eng that it would be easiest just accept Jesus Christ, and the Lord would immediately come into her heart. So please just pray with me, accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord for your life, you will receive the right to be a child of God filled with power, to drive out the devil spirit that is in his body. At that time, Khem Eng's nephew prayed for sister Khem Eng, who accepted the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by saying, “Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be, because our gospel came out to not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. All of us, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in us. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him. By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. I pray in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.” And Sister Khem Eng prayed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, casting that evil spirit out of the body of her husband, in the mighty power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just after the prayer ended, the evil spirit suddenly came out of the body of Sister Khem Eng's husband. Not only that, the Lord responded in her prayer, asking for the deliverance, the flames disease, and the Lord helped her for the free medical operation payment, and her husband was healed from that injury.

This is a miracle that the Lord Jesus Christ has revealed through the true faith of sister Khem Eng. This miracle inspires all sister Khem Eng's family members to repent the hearts for accepting the Lord Jesus Christ altogether. By the ardency in their hearts, and by calling of God sister Khem Eng and her husband were volunteered out to proclaim the Good News about the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior from sin to the people in the village and other neighboring villages to hear the Gospel and believe in Jesus Christ and the redemption from the Lord Jesus Christ, as the book of Isaiah written: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.”

For a few months, when her husband went to evangelize, he encountered a horrible car accident, that means he was traveling to live with the Lord that leaving sister Kem Eng living along with children in school age, homeless and orphaned. This is a huge challenge in life that sister Khem Eng must keep struggling to overcome all the challenges of trying to stay in the faith in the Lord without fail. Sister Khem Eng tried in all her prayers offered to the Lord that she gave her all of troubles on her life's way to the Lord Jesus Christ without turning to the left or to the right, essentially trying to concentrate her spirit on the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ never to be shaken. The plague occurred when sister Kem Enh gave birth to a girl in her six-month-old condition, however, despite the fact that she remained in love with the Lord Jesus Christ, she was still courageous to go forth in her efforts to preach the Gospel of God without delay. That is, sister Khem Eng, “Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore. Although sister encountered a lack of her livelihood to support her living standard and nurture her beloved children, she does not fear anything as the promise of the Lord in the scriptures: “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Because of that He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. With hard work in God's ministry, she receives a blessing to establish a church that conforms to the will of God, who has blessed her, to take care for and to provide for pasture growing near the water stream. This effort, even at personal cost, brothers and sisters have also raised a number of donations to help and pay for God's missions and personal expenses of pastor Khem Eng.

The Lord has blessed over 10 families with more than 20 people coming to worship God every Sunday. The church where the Lord blesses sister Khem Eng and her fellow believers in Christ is named "Prey Pdao Church," which is located in Prey Pdao commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province.

Kampong Speu Province borders with Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Thom and Koh Kong Provinces. Kampong Speu province has a total area of 7,017 square kilometers, with a population of 716,517. Kampong Speu Province consists of 8 districts, 1. Bor Seth district, 2. Chbar Morn district, 3. Kong Pisey district, 4. Oral district, 5. Oudong district, 6. Phnom Sruoch district, 7. Samrong Tong district and 8. Thpong district (according to 2008 statistics). Kampong Speu Province is a province full of palm trees, so this province is a province of palm sugar production, also a rice field for the province itself and Phnom Penh as I recall that in the 60s and 70s old people said Prey Pdao rice is delicious. At the same time, Kampong Speu province also has some tourist places. However, in the present day, large fields of rice fields along the national road have to be transformed into garment and footwear factories, and while there are some rice fields became sugarcane plantation and sugar cane factory. Today, Cambodian farmers continue to work on palm trees and palm sugar production, which has a nice natural taste after harvesting rainy season to supplement the family's living conditions.

One day, she met Pastor Oung Vibol, who invited sister Khem Eng to study at the Institute for the Church

Planting to increase the knowledge of the Church Planting and the knowledge of the Word of God at the Bible League Office in Phnom Penh. She recently graduated from The ROAR, which is a Bible Study Institute from the United States, in partnership with the Bible League of Cambodia office, and she has got a Bachelor's degree in the Bible, as well as a coordinator of the Good News of Our Village - Asia in Kompong Speu province.

Today, Pastor Khem Eng has tried to serve God and solves her daily life by raising chickens, ducks and cows. So far, she had sold some cows that she had raised before, and she had got some money to build a house with Khmer style higher from the ground on a plot of land along National Road 4 to Chbar Morn town, Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk provinces.

For each week of Sunday school before the worship service, Pastor Khem Eng taught the children by herself, but she is still in need of a materials for teaching the children because of she has some lacks of materials in the kindergarten class to build more Spiritual knowledge services for the children.

In an addition to this work, there is another sister, whose name's Yoeun, 70-year-old, she also serves as a woman's leader in Prey Pdao Church. Sister Yoeun shared her testimony about her life before believing in God and after believing in God. She had constant bleeding, no redemption yet, she spent all money and property to treat here disease but ther's no cure. On the other hand, she still has small children attending school anyway, the family life become depressed. One day there was an evangelist in Udong, his name's Pastor San, who came to preach the Good News in Prey Pdao village, and then she heard that Jesus could heal the sick. She goes to the teacher in order to he prays for her. From the moment when the evangelist prayed for healing sister's bleeding, she was healed by the power of Jesus. After the healing from Jesus, she and her husband and her children accepted Jesus. In the past, her husband was a tri-cycles driver, but now he is very old and he rests at home under the taking care of his children. She is still working for God to guide her Christian sisters in the Lord that they are still younger are securely in faith of the Lord Jesus Christ to praise and sing the songs to glorify God and learning the Word of God in the joy of God's grace. In the previous time, sister Yoeun could not read, but after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, she is able to read God's Word in the Bible. Sister Yoeun recalled the scripture telling us: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

There's another sister, her name's Heang Kim, she serves as vice-leader of the women's leadership at Prey Pdao Church, Kampong Speu Province. She also shares the testimony of her own life before believing and after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. She had a daughter who had been diagnosed with diabetes since early childhood, despite her efforts to earn a penny for her daughter's treatment, she did not get any good results, day after day, which eventually the diabetes killed her daughter. This caused her to suffer so much that she fell ill, and her illness had become overwhelming. One day, there was a woman whom she had met with, she was telling a story of life that was experiencing miserable suffering and worsening illness. The woman told her if she wanted to be cure from illness, believe in Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ would heal her. Then, the woman preached the salvation of Jesus Christ to those who believed in His name and brought sister Heang Kim to Prey Pdao Church for God worship there. Since that day, sister Heang Kim accepted the Lord Jesus Christ for her life. Suddenly, one day, she boiled water to drink, but she suffered from a plague, which caused her to fall on the hot boiling water pot, causing her to burn her hands and feet. At that time, sister Heang Kim cried for the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to save her from that hot water. With the power of prayer calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, both her hands and feet and body are not burning but with pink visible and only a little bit redness. This is the second great miracle that the Lord Jesus Christ has manifested in healing sister Heang Kim such as healings from bleeding as well as burning hot water. That is why her soul and spirit still remembers God's goodness for the righteous in relying on Him, so that Sister gives thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. She gives thanks to the God of gods, for His steadfast love endures forever. She gives thanks to the Lord of lords, for His steadfast love endures forever; to Him who alone does great wonders, for His steadfast love endures forever; to Him who by understanding made the heavens, for His steadfast love endures forever; to Him who spread out the earth above the waters, for His steadfast love endures forever; to Him who made the great lights, for His steadfast love endures forever; the sun to rule over the day, for His steadfast love endures forever; the moon and stars to rule over the night, for His steadfast love endures forever; …  with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for His steadfast love endures forever.

Brother Mei Ngin, 65, serves as a deacon at Prey Pdao Church. He is always active in the service of God to lead the fellow believers, sing praised songs and hymns every Sunday, and at times he shares the Word as Spiritual food to those who come to worshipGod on Sunday service. Brother shared his previous story before believing God, he was a fortune-teller. But one day, brother was struck by the bad spirit, causing him as deadly disease, lying in the middle of the jungle alone. He has an older brother who is a believer in Christ that one had came to help him, and took him from the jungle back to the village. When he brought brother Mei Ngin back to the village, his elder brother gathered the elders and fellow believers in Christ to pray for him to cast the evil spirit to come out of him. Since then, brother Mei Ngin has accepted Jesus Christ and gave himself to the Lord, transforming his life according to the purpose of the Lord. So, after receiving the salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord healed of his paralytic disease, and he was baptized, and then he went to serve the Lord in the church as the gift that the Lord has blessed him participated in the praise and worship the Lord every Sunday. The scriptures that he remembers in his heart is from Ephesians 5:18, which states: “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.” Ming Ning's life has given everything to the Lord to transform his life according to the purpose of God.

So, have you have given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, for whom He sacrificed His life and died on the Cross for our sins? Give everything to the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Lord will give you back everything!
